Restlessness

“I’m restless. Things are calling me away. My hair is being pulled by the stars again.”-Anaïs Nin

Our souls begin to stir in the transitional energy of February, and it is not always a very comfortable space to be. Spring is not yet here, but we can feel the earth slowly beginning to wake beneath its blanket of snow. We may begin to feel restless, unable to relax into the quiet space that is much more available to us in the darkness and quiet of deep winter. We feel anxious, unsettled, ready for something new but unsure of what that something new is and unclear about the next step.

Just for today, don’t resist the restlessness. Welcome it. Breathe into it. Sit quietly with it.  See it as a gift, a sign that new life stirs within you. In this quiet, non-resisting space of acceptance, that anxious energy may transform into a quiet voice.  Listen as it whispers to you, gently guiding you towards the next step.
